Not really a redesign since the cartoon and movie aren’t connected but I prefer the shitty Beatles cartoon designs over the Yellow Submarine ones. This one’s more a matter of taste they’re both good interpretations of what the Beatles looked like at different points in their careers.

so fucking true but also i think some of the same animators actually did both. their fault for using rotoscope in the yellow sub movie forcing them to do human proportions lmao.

Gears of War after the trilogy.

Gears of War is a third person cover shooter that incorporates horror elements with action and storytelling. Xbox Exclusive.

Well, the first game I consider to be a horror game because of its difficulty, tone and Locust menace. 2 and 3 focused more on action and storytelling with positive results.

After The Coalition took over the Gears IP, it went off the rails to say the least.

Gears 4, you fight robots more than Locust. Gears 5, there's less intensity.

The current livery comes off as being the typical "very boring and generic livery" that Airlines have now with their aircraft.

Not strictly a redesign, but rather new style, but FUCK the Rugrats do not look Good In CGI. Klasky Csupos intentionally weird rough art style just looks so bland and plasticky converted into 3D, loses all of its charm.

seriously, whats with the obesession with making every new logo bland lately?

I'm not a fan of the border and font change that they did to Magic: The Gathering cards, as in the 2nd (?) change, because it felt like the font change was unnecessary, because of how similar it looked, with little difference, and the bottom parts of the card looking weird. Here's an example of the change, using the card Pacifism as an example, because it has angel titties (since that's not a thing anymore in today's day MTG card art, because WOTC drank the Wokey Alphabet Soup HARD):



I didn't really mind the original border change (picture 1 to picture 2), even though there were a number of people that hated it. In this case, the picture 2 to picture 3 change was the change that I found unnecessary.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power had some questionable redesigns, but I'll choose Grizzlor who looked like this in the original She-Ra cartoon...

To his wussed-down look in SPOP. They even filed down his teeth.

Ok, one more SPOP redesign that bugged me. Here's the original Spinnerella on the right and the new one on the left.

I'm sorry, but someone that fat on the battlefield is going to be a bit of a hindrance (especially if a war is going on) since fatties aren't known for their grace and stamina. Also the fat one is barefoot which is also a danger.

The ps1/ps2 era games of klasky csupo's designs do a good job of translating the artsyles to 3d well somehow. Hell, even that new smash clone game does it well with Nigel. it's entirely doable. Though it might not be immediately apparent, these ARE redesigns. Cheaply done and animated with realistic texturing instead of wacky colors and shit muddying the aesthetic making it look like a weird bootleg fan project from 10 years ago.

PS: Stu is one of the fucking worst redesigns in that reboot.
