Hearing "the 'N' word" instead of "nigger" drives me insane. Are people really so pathetically weak and unstable that they can't bear this one combination of syllables? It's just a fucking word but it's treated like a voodoo curse that cannot ever be uttered out loud FFS.

(Unless you're black of course, in which case you can say it constantly and anyone who tells you to STFU is just a bigot)
 
"Conspiracy theory". It's a thought-terminating cliche used to dismiss any basic pattern recognition.

"Misinformation/disinformation". It's code for wrongthink and inconvenient facts.

"Bothsidesism". Anyone who uses it is tacitly admitting that they have no interest in listening to anyone they disagree with, and have concluded that they are so unimpeachably right that anyone who says otherwise must be silenced.

"Journalism". 99.9% of people who claim this as a profession are glorified bloggers and propagandists.

rights

"in this moment," (in history or whatever)

New words that suck:
Latinx
Ableist
Pan (pansexual, pan by itself)
capital B Black.
anything followed by phobia that isn't arachnophobia or homophobia. Or, if we're going to use those terms, actually treat the person as if they have a fear. For example, treat a transphobic person as if they're really, really afraid of these men in dresses. An islamophobic person may really have a fear of Islam. That should be much more accepted, in my view.
Masc and femme are solid pics as well.
Covid should just be called the virus from Wuhan and anybody who hates it should go fuck themselves.
Negative mentions of "social media" existing by any person who has a social media account.
Sexual misconduct usually refers to someone asking someone out and having them say no, but it's convenient because it sounds like a legitimate rape (can we bring back this term, by the way?).
