Adult Swim made an offer but MTV refused to sell the show to them. So the creators did other things for Adult Swim like Xavier: Renegade Angel.

I remember finding the show on MTV 2 and had a good laugh at the outlandish shit they got away with. I loved it when they would go to the black or chinese neighborhoods and fuck with the locals. The AV Club did an article talking about the show and how they loved it, but since they're biased they forgive or overlook the offensive (on purpose) jokes.

Wonder Showzen really blended the irony, parody and absurdist humor in a way that really makes me think that the cancel culture mob would not know what to do if a show like this were rebooted today.

That show literally made fun of everyone and everything that even the most offended would be doing the Spider Man pointing fingers at Spider Man meme in real life.

Own the dvd, It's fucking great. Basically porn without the sex. The script Chatman wrote for them to perform is about the same as you'd hear on XRA / WS / any PFFR material. He sent it to like 4 different make your own porn companies and compiled them together in "acts". Seeing these "actors" try to perform without resorting to just fucking and whatnot is interesting to say the least. They have such a hard time trying to act out the script, it's just bizarre to watch. Also the dvd came with a custom made packet of hand sanitizer, fucking hilarious.
