Woman dating ghost explains how she'll 'have his babies'

Maintaining a relationship with another human can be difficult enough, but one woman claims to be in a serious relationship... with a ghost.

Amethyst Realm, a spiritual guidance counsellor, shared her romantic liaisons with a spirit on ITV's This Morning.

After six months of dating a ghost she met while in Australia, they are reportedly more in love than Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore in Ghost,

They have also apparently joined the Mile High Club... However that works.

In an interview on This Morning, Amethyst said:

I refer to it as him, because that's easier. He's very ancient, very wise, very kind. I would say [he has been on the planet] for a very long time.

She describes her boyfriend as something she could feel rather than see, that he was an 'emotional, physical presence'.

As a spiritual guidance counsellor, Amethyst is no stranger to ghostly encounters and she claims that she knew this one was different - that she had fallen in love.

The ghost had supposedly followed her back from Australia and Amethyst admitted sometimes being turned on by the ghost.

According to Amethyst: "It's difficult to explain in terms of normal, earthbound relationships. It's a bit deeper than that, we don't have a need for conversation."

In a recent interview she's tried to clarify how she and the ghost plan to have a child together.

"I've been looking into phantom pregnancies," she said, "and I believe that a phantom pregnancy is actually a real pregnancy but you have a phantom inside you rather than a human baby.

"The reason we don't ever manage to carry these to full term is that people don't understand... But I'm hoping through understanding what's going on with my body, I'll be able to."

Phantom pregnancies are quite emphatically not what Amethyst thinks they are. It's a medical term describing an abnormal condition in which signs of pregnancy such as nausea and abdominal swelling are present in a woman who is not pregnant.

Ya know, 50 years ago this bitch would have been committed and (probably) treated so she could be a productive member of society.

These days we give her TV time and unironically buy her book.

Oh, and don't forget to clap!

We really shouldn't be encouraging delusions like this. But thanks to places like Tumblr constantly insisting "you are valid" for everything from made up genders to headmates this type of thing has proliferated exponentially. We're doomed.(:_(

Also I'm surprised she isn't 300 lbs. A bit horse faced though. But she could get a real guy.

Someone should tell her that her "phantom pregnancy" plan is offensive to women who have suffered through real phantom pregnancies.

Sooooooo.... Sapphire isn't alone in the "ghost baby" shit, huh? Maybe hey can do a ghost baby playdate thing, where the demon Asmodeus can babysit for both of them and the gals can drink wine and talk about manghost problems.

They need to make a Facebook group. I'm sure there are plenty more. Maybe they could overlap with fandoms. What ever happened to that crazy girl who claimed she dated Sephiroth on the astral plane and had astral sex with him?

Oh good gravy, this woman watched the exceptional Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Sub Rosa and took it seriously.

Don't forget the episode that would be considered majorly transphobic today. Bevery Crusher falls in love with an alien ambassador that's actually a parasite in a host body. The host body is assassinated and the parasite is temporarily put into Riker. I'm sure that cemented some fanon for a few people who like weird pairings. After that a new alien host body becomes available for Bev's parasitic love interest. But it's a woman.

Beverly cannot continue the relationship because despite the parasite being the real personality she fell in love with the body is now female and she ain't into muff diving.

Honestly, I think she'd have adjustment problems regardless and does mention this. But this episode would cause social media to explode if it were to happen today. I'm surprised it never comes up as "problematic".

I had forgotten about Sub Rosa. But it's almost like a Halloween episode. Beverly lights a candle she isn't supposed to light, awakens a ghost and then eventually the ghost possesses the dead granny who rises from the grave.

Also Ronin isn't a ghost. Just an alien. But it's still a similar concept since he can't materialize without the spooky candle. Thankfully there were no ghost babies. We don't need Beverly having a kid that's even more exceptional than Wesley.

Oh yeah, The Host. Yeah. Funny thing about the Trill. In DS9 it's announced that it's bad juju for a trill to hook up with a re-bodied partner or vice versa (not all Trill become hosts). I think most people don't even think about The Host these days. I remember back in the day when it first aired thinking it would probably stir sentiments around same-sex attraction but the trans idea wasn't a thing I was really thinking about (because it was literally switching bodies and Trill Symbionts themselves are asexual).

Yeah, Ronin was an anaphasic organism, so not strictly a ghost, but had similar attributes.
