I feel bad for you. For most people reading that, it was just an asshole killing a critter, but you've probably worked with young and injured birds and can imagine specific ones you've nurtured being killed.

I have done stuff with wild birds before, once I found a little sparrow with one eye and the other eye blind and the poor thing was just sitting on the sidewalk and he had no idea what was going on. The sad thing is that bird probably had to be put down

I'd almost find them a little more sympathetic if there was some sense of community amongst them, but no. They can't even form genuine camaraderie in being dead weight, they're always lashing out at each other. But I suppose that's apt enough for lonely, angry people.

I can understand depression, I suffer from it myself and for about seven years I was the asocial shut-in. No friends besides my cat, unhappy family situation, no hope for the future. I've done loneliness, it's soul-crushing and I wouldn't wish it on anyone but the very worst of us. I, however, cannot understand being a young adult and taking anything resembling pride in doing nothing of value to anyone else. Having no friends and never getting exercise is absolutely miserable and it borders on hilarity that any of these guys try to take that and make it powerful. "I'm a forevervirgin and SCREW YOU SLUTS WHO WILL NEVER HIT ON ME I'M STAYING THIS WAY." Yeah, okay.

Society needs people who care and show some ounce of willingness to develop themselves.

I have sympathy for people who genuinely feel worthless. I don't have sympathy for people who wave their laziness around like a flag.

As for the guy that murdered that poor animal in cold blood, Jesus Goddamn Christ I'm even not going near that. If he EVER comes to a place where he can process what he did, I hope it HAUNTS him.
