Nah, people who want nuclear families will have them (unless they're repulsive assholes no one wants to fuck). Thankfully people like me now have the option to not have a nuclear family if we don't want. Pretty cool tbh.

Replacing normal things like a family unit is a temporary fix. The abnormalities with things like this don’t last long because of things that go way too far that not even “demoralization” will stop them from making families of their own.

Were in an economic and social downturn in such cases we resort to more foundational/primal structures so no. But the American nuclear family was always a simplification and that delusion is coming to its end because multiple generations will have to rely on one another.

Also anyone who uses last of us 2 as a referance for anything should be ignored.
