Agreed, sucks because she got tons of heat for the JD Vance episode from wetbrain color voooters and magaboomers, when it was one of her best.
A decline had to happen after the hot streak of christmas special - ai who loved me - jd vance show. Big part of it, was after all of Will's irl schenanigans and loss of his zippy honda fit, he went back to being a 40 year old single man engagement farming in his apartment.
There was plenty of material after his ICE escapades, and Vance and the Iran war, all we got from Stancil was blowing up yet another antifa spot to get attention, and more skeets. After bragging about antifa bitches doxxing ICE agents on tinder, you'd think StancilFresh pimping out hoes with brother Jamal would have been the bit, but she's usually good about avoiding obvious jokes so fair enough. Thing is she didn't really replace it with anything in the show, save for the one-note scarface angle. The pacing and direction was worse too, action scenes didn't really work on a satire or parody level, barely had actual jokes. Again, compare it to The AI who loved me which was a genuine masterpiece shitpost far too good for a bluesky millennial ween. Brief plot, snappy action, quick joke, irl stancil moment immortalized on X.com, repeat. Finished with a musical number of stancil as sean connery's james bond, and you have something better than any tv-produced satire in the last 20 years.
I don't know if it was from time pressure, or her new AI tools were more annoying, but it feels like a huge step down. Maybe it's because I spend too much time on X.com this thread, but half the fun of the show is noticing references to shared politisperging and all the dumb ass shit Will's been up to. Last episode just felt empty by comparison, never seen scarface, did I miss something from florida? Only comparably low episode was 4, and that was will stancil eating tacos for five minutes. Did Alex even really do anything irl since the xmas special? Still gonna simp for emily but yeah not seeing the hype

I exaggerated tbh, short version is that in the comments on x and YouTube, the comments were basically all positive for every episode, EXCEPT the jd Vance show. Still mostly positive, but there were a number saying it was a miss or that she fell off, when at least half of those comments were from accounts following or posting generic maga takes.
Also the episode had deliberate WSS references, but moreso to signal it was tied to the project, and not start up an entirely new spinoff imo. Plenty of fresh jokes too, and the core of the episode having the Iran war as the titanic in a parody was perfect.
