Cause it's not about uncovering the truth or being vulnerable for doing the right thing these days. Profit and being the first on a story matters more than the truth these days. There always be some bias in a story, but it shouldn't be to the level where the whole story becomes skewed in your bias without presenting fairiness to other sides.

There are of course some good ones but overall:
They never met a war they didn't like.
They never met a moral panic they didn't want to boost.
They never saw a complex issue they didn't want to reduce down to the most simplistic Disney+ narrative possible.
They are a downwardly mobile class of ex-theater kids and debate club freaks who can sense the death of professionalism in their career choice but are unable to blame the corporate forces they are dependent on for this process so lash out at others who are unrelated to the problem. And the more contacts they build for access the less able they are to critically report on those powerful people who provide that access, meaning that even the successful ones, if successful enough, eventually become useless.
