Why isn't Chunky Soup Chunky, anymore?

Make your own soup. Just get a pressure cooker and you're good. It's super low effort.

Shrinkflation. Try the generic store brands, I find somehow they're often better, maybe because they can't coast on their brand recognition. Vegetarian soups are also often better IMO- if you go for anything with meat in it, you can just bet that you're gonna get like 3 tiny chunks in the whole can.

> here is 1/4 carrot and a half a piece of the saddest broccoli you have ever seen.

Just buy broth and pour it in a thermos bottle at this point. Throw in a raw carrot if you are feeling fancy.

Look at Mr. Moneybags over here with his broth, too good to boil some water and sprinkle in some salt and pepper he stole from McDonalds.

> 130 g vegetable broth for $3,20
It's not like I'm having a +$10 bone broth as my slop meal...

I blame zoomers. Chewing potato and meat chunks distracts them from all that swiping and tiktoking.

For the same reason every other processed/pre-prepared food keeps getting worse and more expensive. Because it's mainly fat niggercattle that eat it, so the reptilian overlords figure "Who gives a shit, just put some fat and salt in a package and they'll pay out the ass for it. What are they going to do, hit up the produce section and use their stove? Lol."

The cheapened production and still increased the prices. Just make your own soup. If you need canned soups around then Campbell's Chunky probably isn't worth it anymore. Even the Progresso lentil soup is a bit thin these days. It's still a decent amount of lentils. But it tasted blander to me in addition to being thinner.

I avoid Campbell's after they started getting into obnoxiously unprofessional online slap fights with random people like some Redditor over their virtue signaling. I mean I know the other companies have whored themselves out to woke as well. But I like to imagine at least they didn't sink to such childish depths

Buy a crockpot, learn to slow cook Pinto and butter beans along with celery, carrots, and some tomato's and potato's. If you want to get expensive get some chicken and toss it into the slow cooker. I live off stew to this day, old habit I learned from college years. Cheap without feeling cheap, can still have the luxury of going to bed feeling like a bloated fatass without the negative health effects of actually being one, or living off processed shit.

At what point does a chunky soup become not soup anymore? Does it become chowder? Slop? Gruel? If cereal is soup, then is it still soup when the cereal soaks up all the milk?

Nearly every one of those chunky soups are disgusting in their own way, and bland. I'd rather eat other campbell soups, besides cream soups. I can't imagine eating something like cream of mushroom or celery on it's own, not even for cooking, that's nasty

I dunno, I had a can of the chunky creamy chicken noodle soup a month or two ago for the first time in I have no idea how long and it was honestly better than I was expecting. I mean it was still kinda shitty, but better than my fairly low expectations.

The "cream" soups are like 1/3 soybean oil and gum arabic, it's disgusting. I don't know why I was cursed but soybean oil has an offensive freshly-painted-wall taste to me and it's ruined everything that used to just use corn oil or real cream.
