Why is the Arabic script so confusing?

Learning Chinese Characters, The Cyrillic Script, The Japanese Kana and Kanji as well as the Korean Alphabet has been going pretty smoothly for me. When I see them enough times, I eventually remember them pretty well. But for Arabic. It's an absolutely different ballgame. It doesn't go as easy.

I can't say the same for Hebrew. It also used to be like munching bricks until the Ashkenazis concluded they couldn't handle the sounds.

Speaking of Hebrew, its script is much more confusing than the Arabic script.

Take cursive english script, remove all the vowels, and flip the direction you write it. There's arabic for you.

Take cursive english script, remove all the vowels, and flip the direction you write it. There's arabic for you.

You have vowels, just not the short ones (unless the text deigns to have the diacritics written out because the writer knew it was for learners). Everything else is right.
