Why does Sonic the Hedgehog attract so much autism? - and how come the same doesn't apply to stuff like Mario or Zelda or Crash Bandicoot to the same extent

Title pretty much. If it weren't for Sonic and Pokemon, this site wouldn't even exist. So what is it exactly about the blue rodent that seems to attract so many autists. It can't just be furries can it?

If I had to guess, it's the animal characters and vibrant aesthetic that it has going on.

Remember, a lot of autistics have facial blindness so the characters being animals makes it easier for them to tell apart

That's what I think, anyway.

Man I noticed this for soooo long. Same w Dragonball Z, WWE, Godzilla (that one's for furry autists), and anime in general.

I have a tier list...

High functioning autism: Pokemon, Anime

Autism: My Little Pony

Disabled-tier Autism: Sonic the Hedgehog, WWE, Dragonball Z

I noticed an odd thing that a lot of downs syndrome people are into some of these things too. Especially WWE.

Chris-Chan was into high-functioning autism things such as Pokemon and Anime. Yet also mid-functioning and low-functioning autism things such as MLP and Sonic.
What kind of autist does this make Chris-Chan?

There's no way a man into MLP isn't in the latter category.

I knew a real Mario autist, but never a Sonic one. Pokemon has cast such a far and wide net that naturally autists will be caught up in it too.
Pokemon have cards that also have a clear indication of how strong the Pokemon are and what they are capable of.

A lot of OCD related disorders would find that appealing. Autists before Pokemon liked things like trains and football stickers, and baseball cards in the USA I guess.

The Sonic franchise has always been heavy on branding and light on substance. They're kids games targeted at a young audience in ways that Mario is not. Mario's difficulty, especially in early incarnations, prevented the same kind of attachment. Sonic's gameplay is comparatively simple. The anthropomorphic stuff is probably also part of it: gets them creating inhuman fantasy worlds. A lot of autistics avoid people, but animals are fine.

Probably because of they have an incredibly difficult time following an conventional stories with people in it; so they tend to gravitate towards animals and the more simplistic cartoons.

He's more or less mid-functioning when you throw in the fact that he's capable of getting an job and routinely grifting people. But at the end of the day, he's still an idiot who's trapped within his own delusions.

An lucky idiot.
