KnowYourMeme is locked down harder than any online database I can think of because they don't have the autistic manpower or devotion to scrub a page whenever a 12 year old goes on a shitpost frenzy. And I can't blame them since the creator without a doubt saw the rise and fall of Encyclopedia Dramatica

I did the heavy research of Google and they conveniently go through it all here. They have less than 50 people to constantly research internet memes and mod the forum. Only 7 guys in Brooklyn (NYT) make money off the site.

They don’t have the time to bother updating Kiwifarm's entry. They don't even have the time to maintain the 4chan entry which is in terrible need of editing, at the top it has a paragraph devoted to last year's April Fool's joke (Quebec board) and it's not even clear if the editor was aware that it indeed was a joke.

What's important to KnowYourMeme is to maintain pageclicks for advertising. KnowYourMeme is a hack site. And I can't blame them regularly editing my Bam Margera OP can make me feel tired at times and I made it out of happiness, I'd blow my head off if I had to keep track of every mundane meme coming from 4chan, Facebook, Reddit, and now Tiktok.
