Why does anyone trust Nick Rekieta's law opinions? - the real life Lionel Hutz is finally being called out!

You can be right about legal exposition while being wrong about what'll actually occur in a trial. There's a human element to law, and he regularly acknowledges it.

Reminder that Nick's rich parents don't trust him to not drink away his inheritance so they mete it out to him in a monthly tugboat via Ty Beard.

You don't get and maintain a marriage with a qt3.14159265359... and five kids while being fiscally irresponsible.

A smug American lawyer? Seems so unlikely.
I legitimately despise smug people. It doesn't matter how right someone is or if we're on the same team or not. I dislike people that are smug. There's something primal in my being that makes me hate smugness with a passion. Maybe it's how I was raised or maybe I've just been kicked in the balls enough to know everything can spin around and implode at any time, but I cannot trust someone on any subject if they cannot display humility.

Fuck Ty. He's a cunt and I have no faith he is morally straight. It takes a special kind of piece of shit to go on streams multiple times a week wearing a "dammit nick we lost the case again" shirt, drinking, talking about how retarded your opponents are, and then miss a fucking filing date and ACTUALLY LOSE THE CASE. Make no mistake, this whole kerfuffle is Ty's fault. Now they're stuck in appeals and they are going to burn hundreds of thousands more to wrap it up. They will probably get at least some of the initial ruling overturned and get some of the relief that they asked for, but it will never ever be the slam dunk he sold it as.

Calm down dude! Personally I couldn't give a shit about the case, and the threads here have an embarrassing amount of forensic amateur speculation. I just watch him occasionally, and never for kickvic stuff. If you need to watched dubbed stuff you're a bit sad imho.

Yeah I don't have a dog in this race. I just don't like smug people. That's the only opinion I have on him.

You know that's why they're smug, right? Because it sends that heat up your fucking spine and makes you want to choke them out. That fleeting feeling of power over another person's mental state is what makes people act out their arrogance. I'd say it gets me hard, but that's factually incorrect. Rather it's just highly amusing.

That's what I said, they're smug cunts. The kicker here is that they are smug about being wrong.

Also I don't want to choke them out. If they want to be smug, insufferable cunts that's fine, it's just an immoral way to live.

I think Nick Rekieta's kinda creepy and I really don't like him but he's impossible to avoid if you're on Kiwi Farms and you listen to The Dick Show every week. So that's annoying.

Should Nick's dox be included in the OP?
  • Yes, it should be

  • No, it should not be

  • When he becomes a lolcow

83 votes for no? Why? Everyone else on the planet's eligible for a dox, but Rekieta of all people isn't, according to a chunk of the userbase?

But "Yes" won out, so where's that dox?

Then dox him nigg/er. No one here is stopping ya. Do it, or stop moaning how someone else hasn't done it.

I like Rekieta, but I prefer my legal podcasts to follow the Handel on the Law format: where desperate and deranged people call in for free legal advice, and the lawyer berates and mocks them for being exceptional individuals, telling them to prepare their anus if they're facing jail time.
That sounds fun, but also sounds like it has a limited lifespan built into it.

I don't know how long Bill Handel's show has been in national syndication, but I first heard it something like ten years ago. So a legal talk show certainly can have legs as long as they manage to balance being both entertaining and informative. It is only a weekend show, though, where most radio stations put their garbage infomercial blocks or "best of" re-runs, so the competition is less stiff. But still, he's on a pretty good run.
