Why does Aldi have such horrible produce?

The only thing that rots at my local Aldis is bread, especially that nasty keto bread. It's too bad, they have a big bread aisle. I don't really like getting veg from there, either.

I used to shop there more often, but they don't have as many gluten free options as they used to.

Might just be my luck-out experience, but I'd trust meat from my local Aldis more than the usual grocery chains and without a markup.

I only go to Aldi's when they have a great deal on meat. Everything else is either shit or overpriced.

Isn't Aldi the store that makes you put a quarter in your shopping cart so you don't leave it or something? Always found that odd, I mean I'm assuming it works but it just seems silly.
Aldi is German. They are just trying to spread the trad Aryan practice of putting your fucking cart back in the corral to the sort of 3rd world shitholes where nobody bothers.

It’s a good store, they treat their workers comparatively well, you just need to cherry pick the stuff that’s good value (cans and jars and snacks).

And... what would that be?
Ok so this is a Polish perspective.
1. Wide alleys. The cheap alternative to Aldi is Poland is Biedronka store. The latter regurarly breaks anti fire laws by putting stuff in the middle of alleys. Biedronka has shopping carts but there is no wsy you can enter Biedronka with a cart. Meanwhile Aldi is wide.
2. I like Aldi's teas personally.
3. Non alcoholic beverages are few but fine. I once saw a literally rotten juice in Biedronka. Yes those juice that has 20% fruit 40% sugar and then some water. It shouldn't rot easily because of all the sugar yet it was rotten.
4. Biedronka also managed to rot once some long shelf life stuff.
5. Aldi's stuff is placed out rather neatly so I can search through easily especially limited time non food stuff like idk toys, clothes tools whatever. Obviously this doesn't happen in Biedronka where if people displace stuff it's gonna stay displaced because there are no workers to clean stuff up. And biedronka brings new merch every week even if the old one hasn't been sold yet so it's cluttered as fuck.

because aldi is inferior to lidl.
Most true statement ever posted on KF. I haven't been in an Aldi to do proper grocery shopping in years. Shit produce, shit meat, shit prices. The most i do buy there is some baked goods when i am deep in the city and there's no Lidl in the vicinity.

Aldi was Elder God-tier in the pre-€ times, i give 'em that. Popular insult in my elementary school friend group was "Your mom shops at Aldi", indicating that one's family is too poor to shop at a proper super market. Of course, all our mothers shopped there because we were all poor :story:
Either we're fucking spoiled in Burgerland or somehow Aldi's UK has gone more hood than the hood.
I've seen a YT video about when Aldi started its US business, Burger Aldi is in no way comparable to Yuropeen Aldi. Just entering a German Aldi is enough to trigger a depressive episode.
