Because it's a humanitarian crisis already, and if it isn't managed properly it'll explode into an all-out world war with Israel, European Union, NATO, and the US on one side, and Iran, the rest of the Muslim world, China, and Russia on the other.

If you can't bring yourself to care about the loss of life and human suffering, you still have to consider that this violence can be coming to a city near you, either in the form of a formal attack by a national army, or from homegrown terrorism against Jews and Muslims.

This is the main reason international bodies are focused on. WWI escalated do too petty Baltic squabbles, incompetent empires and convoluted alliances while WWII was already in full swing in the East long before Germany invaded Poland. Most global wars arise due to global powers being far too invested in stupid petty conflicts in small foreign nations. However the US would most likely benefit from a WWIII scenario due to geography and manufacturing. Canada, Mexico and Russia are the only reasonable countries that could invade main land US. It's highly unlikely for Canada to flip, Mexico is already fighting a war with the cartels and Russia would be spotted long before they made it out of Alaska. On the flip side the US has positioned itself as the global arms dealers and would be set to make a mighty profit by increasing production of her favorite toys to be sent into new more justified theaters. If you're in the Eastern hemisphere, than the Israel-Palestine conflict should be worrying since these types of little wars are what produce global wars. If you're in the Western hemisphere than either your country is too weak and is dealing with it's own shit to care, or its set up eventually prosper from the job opportunities and exports conflicts like this produce.

The argument about Americans and Europeans holding them back is so rich with hubris. Most Jews and yarmulke sniffers out there don’t realize how much wealth has been sent to keep Israel afloat. The true cost of Israel is astronomical and cutting them loose would be the smart thing to do from a taxpayer or even basic cost/benefit calculations. They wouldn’t last very long and those in power actually know this, which is why no senior Israeli official would say such a thing.

What even this argument? You say treat Israel as any other country and then argue that the USA should actively work against Israel as if that is the norm and in any way prove something. It was Iraq's nuclear facilities that were bombed (Iran was always threatened but never acted upon), and that country threatened the USA. The USS Liberty was also compensated despite Israel (quite justly) claiming it was a case of friendly fire.

I have no idea how people here are so convinced Israel absolutely needs the aid, as if it doesn't have a working economy. Nevermind the fact that most of the security costs are because Israel needs to live with Palestinians that actively attack it, and the EU, USA, arab countries and NGOs actively sponsor Palestinian struggle against Israel.
