we don't hate him, it's more that most of what he said was wrong and or unscientific, which is fine except when someone finds out you have a psych degree, aside from 'what am i thinking', they'll basically assume freud is what you do

basically imagine you're a surgeon and when anyone finds out they hand you a piece of flint like 'haha wanna drill in my head to get the evil spirits out'

it gets tiresome

If I recall, most if not all of the American Psychology Association board members are Women today. And considering what they were probably taught, the order has likely come down from on high he's a crock of shit. But personally, I think some of his theories had some merit. I mean consider the amount of Women with Daddy issues. Then the amount of Women that complain that guys only want a Mother they can fuck. Clearly it implies that at least some of the requirements of their ideal partner comes from what they've experienced from their Mother or Father, it's their first example of a relationship.

Even in an ultra conservative country like South Korea, I was watching a Woman being interviewed, and she said she'd want a Husband that's like her Father. Combine that with my own anecdotal evidence and I think it does make up some part of peoples psyche of the example of what the standard relationship looks like. Regardless of what that entails.

When one or the other aren't present during their formative years, I think, that's when things tend to go to shit.
