Edit: also Apples os's have been based on Linux since forever, and up until recently you could still use the same bash commands and scripts. So Apple is the most popular distro and shares the same obnoxious fan base.

Because, unless you're in a country or organization where the computers aren't dominated by Windows (or macOS), using Linux is a personal choice that makes life more difficult - either by a little bit or a lot. They feel the need to seek out other Linux users to reinforce their personal choices and assure that their choice was the right thing.

Usually it's the opposite. By that I mean, they can't stop talking about how much they hate it. Especially when you work on the tech side of things. Microsoft still doesn't understand what "stability" means.
