It's a common misconception that black men have a preference for fat (white) women. In fact, as all of their own women are already fat, they don't have a choice between fat or thin. It comes down to fat and white or fat and black for them.

It's a combination of factors:

-Black men usually like thicker women in general, and the fat white women they're with tend to resemble what a majority of black women look like anyway.
-White women are not usually as aggressive or naggy as many black women are.
-There is a sort of deep, internalized racism present in black communities. If a black man can get a white woman as a girlfriend or wife, it's a sign that he's "made it" in society because a white will sleep with him and even have his children. As has been mentioned it's a status thing.

From what I've heard most Mexican women start out thin as teens/young adults but all seem to get really fat in middle age. I've rarely seen fat Mexican men though.

It's like that asian thing where asian women look like they're thirty until they hit like their sixties and look like they're ninety.
