Why do Asians always use obscure messaging apps? - Why can’t they just use sms or something

They always use some sketchy shit like telegram or weird apps you’ve never heard of. What gives?

They use normal messaging apps, its just that they tend to blend in and all look alike, so it seems like there's fewer of them. Also so short, maybe you just need to scroll down some?

Actually, now that you mention it, I think I had someone try to groom me over Kik. I'm surprised that app is Canadian, I thought for sure it was Indian or Vietnamese, as those were the only ones I knew who used it.

i thought only niggers used kik

If you mean WeChat that one is huuuuuuuuge in choyna, basically a do-everything app with its own mini-app store inside it.

IIRC musk wanted to replicate that, should've gone with that instead of burning 40 billion in the blue bird asylum.
Well, he could probably just slowly turn twatter into something like that. It's hard to actually get alt-tech moving even if it offers better services than big tech. The normie hordes gravitate to whatever is popular not whatever is best on the internet.

Not really alt-tech, just be the new disruptive thing and he has a lot of experience doing that. Wechat started as another Whatsapp copycat but it really exploded when some chinese guy had the truly brilliant idea of adding QR payments. Suddenly even the dingy corner store in some alley of beijing could take credit cards without the need for even a cash register, let alone an overly complicated NFC system that also requires the phones to have it which most asian models do not. It only branched out from there, you can use the QR of wechat for everything like checking in a hotel, go to a doctor, park your car, etc...

You cant do that shit with twitter, the brand was already tainted by bullshit politics before musk showed up.
