Why are people mean to nice people?

Statistically speaking, the overwhelming majority of the people in most people's lives who have been outwardly "nice" to them were faking it because its a prescribed part of their service, or because they want to shill something to you or swindle you in some way. Generally when I think of a nice person, the first thing that comes to mind is something unpleasant like a salesman, retail worker, schoolteacher or politician. People who otherwise hate your guts and are only putting on a smile because they have to for some reason or another. You just get sick of it after awhile.

The reason people hate 'nice guys' which im sure the OP lumps himself in with, is because they have a smug sense of superiority over others, they think they can be nice & that means that whenever something doesn't go their way they turn around in horror & say "How could this happen to ME? Im such a nice guy!". See for example all the (((nice guys))) that populate Incels.is & Reddit (where OP has clearly slithered out from) that cry when a girl wont give them the time of day, because they see through the nice guy act & see the narcissist it fails to hide.

My earlier post basically said nothing, so I'll elaborate a little:

Most 'nice' people are either pathological ass-kissers (borne from stern upbringing from either one or both parents,) or they're acting from cowardice on the false belief that being outwardly 'nice' entitles them to a 100% conflict free existence, which it doesn't.

I once dated a girl who was 'nice,' and everybody at first glance seemed to think just that. But once you got to know her, as I certainly did over the years, her niceness was the latter kind: she was a people pleaser, and anything over than overt praise from others sent her haywire. That niceness was not genuine, and so it grated on people who noticed it for what it was.

Just like nice guys are really pathetic supplicating turbofags with an ulterior motive, 'nice' people are operating on the same principle: they want something, but are too cowardly to earn it the legitimate way. The difference is subtle but distinct, and is recognisable by others, even if they can't articulate why.

What about people who are just genuinely trying to be a decent human being? I know the word “nice“ has turned a lot of people off but that’s not what I meant in context.

Those people are very rare and a key indicator of that personality type is that they don't call attention to themselves in any way. Which makes them that much harder to identify.

99.9% of people are deeply flawed i would say the only truly innocent are the newly born or the severely mentally retarded, in the event of someone trying so hard to be a decent person, the reason people dont like them is simple & that is because they are turned off by that. Plain & simple. This is because people relate more to people who have flaws like them so somone who presents outwardly to have no flaws is seen as a suspicous person or someone who can be manipulated, I hope thats a better answer within the context of your question.

It’s been my experience that someone really going out of their way to show how nice they are has a hidden agenda. They’re trying to fuck you over somehow. Genuinely nice people don’t need to advertise how nice they are. People might be assholes to “nice” people because they can smell that disingenuous bullshit a mile away

People hate unconfident nice people, they're seen as doormats and asskissers. Confident, outgoing nice people are respected since they give off a more positive vibe as well as having some self-respect which makes their nicest all the more meaningful.
The former would love to call the latter bad/mean people. For when confident people DO put their foot down, it can be viewed as being an "asshole" by the doormats.

People will respect you the most for how you treat them when no one else is around. If you act overly nice in public settings, it comes off as compensation. It's just putting on a show. You can hold the door for people and shit like that, but no need to act like you're gonna date rape someone. If you're genuinely a nice person, people will be able to tell without you having to deliberately show them.

Well, a lot of the time being an "ass hole" is very heavily intertwined with strength, That is biological.
Ass holes also biologically play on the weak because it wafts off the weak like a garbage pile.

I was actually thinking about this the other day, you can kind of break it down into three archetypes: the sheep the sheep dogs and the wolves. a man in his life may play any of thee rolls but usually one most of the time. progress is driven by the interplay between the three, usually a wolf has some sheep that they play the sheep dog for and in hierarchies of sheep some play the wolves, idk im kinda just rambling but it makes sense to me i guess.
