Why Are Lolcows Taken So Seriously? - A discussion on trolling communities and cults of personality

Everyone takes everything seriously on the Internet. In 2009 people were having heated debates over playstyles in Call of Duty long before they started tearing each other's throats out over politics on X. Why would lolcows be any different?

I don't know how to explain it but I'll try: Have any of you noticed 'niggerisms' with these little groups that always form around lolcows? Not a-logging. Not trolling. That's different. I am talking about the odd gang culture that naturally forms in these groups. What do I mean? OK. So imagine the industry rap scene. How everyone there is a name and their own character in a greater anime plot or something. How everyone in that culture is about being as hard as possible and ready to kill if need be.

Everyone driven by three things. Money, clout, legacy. Everyone wants to be their own Liquid Chris or Clyde Cash. You see all these named characters that pop up in any lolcow's respective club. And when you look into it, it is taken so seriously. Life and death over usually petty shit. Shit that doesn't even have anything to do with lolcows. It is fascinating and has been for me for years now. It's one of my favorite topics on the Farms admittedly. They follow this predictable cycle of humble beginnings, golden eras, and then bloody civil wars before Small Rome falls.

I like to hate them as much as I really do enjoy spectating them. But something that I always ask is 'why?' why are they like this? Armchair psychology talk. I really want to talk about how these special minds work.

That much has to be true given the amount of free time that goes into total retards like DarkSydePhil and then fighting turf wars with other people who spend all their time raw watching DarkSydePhil.

Why do we not get mad over lolcows anymore? Because taking the internet seriously and getting angry over lolcows is retarded. Getting heated over trivial things like video games, internet politics, etc. is what makes a person a lolcow. Even getting heated over lolcows makes you a lolcow.

Sometimes people will glorify or sensationalize lolcows for the laughs. Its not to be taken at face value.

Why are lolcows so bizarre? Childhood trauma, mental disorders, bad parenting, being chronically online. However I’m no psychologist. Be careful to not get too invested or involved in lolcows on a parasocial level or youll be just as insane and neurotic as them. Its only fun to watch.
