Who's your favorite elder god, outer god, or old one?

I don't really like the Derlethian stuff myself, so that limits it down.
So I'd say Nyarlathotep, but the problem is in the original work he's not a elder god... (he's a resurrected Egyptian nigger)... thinking about it the whole concept of elder gods never appeared in Lovecraft's work it's all "expanded universe" stuff... so I can't really answer that question.
Lets just go with Yog Sothoth then.

Oops, meant to include outer god in the title, I fixed that now, thanks. I couldn't remember outer gods and wrote old ones instead. :( He's not actually resurrected human, he's just cosplaying in Blackface if that helps and makes you relate to him more if you were Justin Trudeau I suppose.

Idk, the one with the tentacles I guess?

They all kind of do the same thing, they sit around being unfathomable and then someone encounters them and goes "Oh no I've sure been spooked!" and then they go crazy.
If they had feelings and weren't fictional I'm sure they'd be very hurt by this true statement.

you mean them?

Nyarlathotep is a good option for an unspecified interaction; you could have a conversation with him, and possibly even hang out.
"I am His Messenger," the daemon said / As in contempt he struck his Master's head" makes me think we could both complain about our managers.

If you're at a point where you have to become someone's cultist but it doesn't matter whose, I'd be leery of Nyarlathotep. Being able to comprehend humans gives the ability to fuck around with them, and I'm assuming Nyarlathotep is the most likely to prank a coven by trapping them in a pyramid or something, or writing a classic soul contract.

Minority opinion: go with Yig, Father of Serpents. He's a big snake-dude, and the human mind can definitely comprehend a larger-than-average snake/snake-dude. He's not trying to take over anything, or destroy the Earth--all his stuff is on Earth. All Yig wants is people not to mess with snakes or the serpent people who live underground, plus the occasional sacrifice. Sometimes people get turned into a hideous snake-hybrid (not the same as a serpent person) but it's not ineffable, it's a punishment for big, obvious things like betraying the cult or killing a bunch of snakes.
