Who the fuck wants this garbage? - Post examples of terrible DLC, bonuses, and rewards

If we are talking about ripping characters out of games for heavily plot relevant DLC, I believe we need to remember Catwoman from Arkham City. Luckily, most got her without paying due to it being included in many copies, but the decision was still odd none the less.
I didnt even remember her being a seperate thing from the game, so i guess i got one of those copies.

I was going to bitch about an experience I had dredging through easily 400+ DLC for Dead or Alive on PSN back when Sony was going to axe the PS3 store, but then I remembered "oh, yeah, no, there actually is an audience for an individual green bikini recolor for 30 samey looking Japanese chicks."

Seriously, if you've got fifteen minutes and a PS3, go check. There's like six games listed and half of them are "ultimate editions" that have the exact same DLC listed as their base editions.

I think it fits the spirit here but does anyone remember some ARG stunt about a game I can't remember the name of but the last step requires everyone to wait over ten years. Is anyone going to care at that point?

Yeah, technically it costs $10 to play as her. I remember my copy coming with a code for the DLC, but I am guessing that not all came with it. I have to wonder, if she comes with so many copies, why charge for her in the first place?

Not sure about ten years, but IIRC there is an ARG for a Trials game that has a box that will only open in 2100, long past the the expected death of anyone that cares.

could be the anti used game thing. Like the multiplayer passes that came with games like dead space 2.

It was most definitely part of the "let's fuck used game sales" thing in the early 2010's.

I believe Catwoman was even advertised as such. All new copies had her sections, it was used that you had to pay.

Then where are his bots now? Again you need to live in reality, or stop being a new fag. Sterling used to be able to throw his weight around and be a bully. I dont know why youre bothering to die on this hill when you obviously dont know what youre talking about. Its a weird chip on your shoulder.
Dudes always been a two bit nobody bitter at his coworkers for enjoying what they did. The only "relevancy" he ever had is to the terminally online culture warriors.

Atlus are getting pretty bad with DLC, like how all the bonus cosplay costumes in p5 are paid, unlike being ingame unlocks like p3 and p4g (at least they come with battle music) but the biggest sins are the dlc personas. Firstly, as they're fused like normal personas, they can interfere with normal calculations. Iirc Satan or Michael is unfusable because Messiah interferes and always comes out instead of them so you have to deliberately do complicated fusions.
Despite this, they're fine as this as they're just OP fanservice and you miss nothing without them. All except one, joker's 3rd tier persona Raoul, which is scummy to hide behind dlc

It's USD$5 on Switch. I've also read that Switch cartridges are $10 a pop for manufacturing costs (for small-batch indie orders, anyway), so, trying to match the download price doesn't even let them break even. That being said, small but popular games like that tend to just get download codes in cases so grandma can still buy something to giftwrap, and the company can still turn a profit.
What's funny is that I almost wouldn't mind this, if the Xbox One and PS4/5 physical versions weren't the exact same price.

At that point it's more than simply a case of being hard to manufacture cheaply, especially when disks themselves cost like 20p or whatever to print in 2021.

I think it's even worse that in Royal, you get a free DLC so that everyone can have DLC costumes from the original game. It's nice and fun, giving you tons of options. The final party member doesn't get any costumes from that DLC. You unlock 2 costumes for her period. If you want costumes for her, you need to spend 20$ for a costume pack. Not only is that more than the costume packs cost originally, but the old packs gave you costumes for everyone, not just one character.

I may be a simp for 2d waifus, but I ain't spending 20$ so she can have a cool outfit.
