Who are your favorite FPS enemies?

The BOB (Born On Board) civilians in marathon always stood out to me. They were innocents being massacred and that charged up the vibe of the game a lot. Keep in mind this was hot shit back in 1995.

Man, I completely forgot to mention enemies from the STALKER games.

Pretty much every enemy from those games has the potential of killing you hard and fast, and they all feel so unique from each other.

The Bandits are particularly memorable. Always fun bringing them down.
Having played STALKER, I agree but on top of that, I'd put down the Monolith as well. A group of cultist armed with mid-tier to end-game weapons and spouting how they'll kill you for the glory of the Monolith. Add to that the original dubbing and I can't get "hail Monolita."

For other games, I can never forget cultist from Blood and Replica soldiers from the first FEAR. Both have memorable chatter.

I always did like the hierarchy and different behaviors the enemies in the Halo series have.

If an Elite is killed, the Grunts either panic and run around or in the case of 3 onward, they try and suicide rush you. Hunters become more aggressive if one of them dies, ect. Plus different colored enemies signify rank in their military and determines what kind of weapons they'll use. God forbid if you come across a Gold Elite.
In Halo CE, they (Elites) also had to individually reload their weapons if they run out of ammo.

Two of my eternal favourites are the Cacodemons and the Revenants from Doom. The remakes only made them look even better.
Meta Ridley and Dark Samus also hold a very special place in my heart. Metroid prime gets way too overlooked.
Special mention to the Ratling Guns and Smokers from Vermintide and Left 4 Dead respectively.

I like the Geth. They're an interesting blend of retro and modern design thought. They are machines, but also mimick their creators and use synthethic bio-material for their arms. I like their "language", how it sounds. To be honest, I really just like the "heretic" Geth. In the first ME game, they were just the Geth, but were retconned in the second game into being a splinter group from the main Geth.

They worshiped the Reapers and probably had an idea of religion of their own, since you can see Geth prostrating themselves to a beacon of some kind in Feros levels. When I first played the game I thought the idea that the enemies could become more organised and do more complex task the more they were of them was cool, even if that didn't translate to gameplay, because it was just lore text.

If you count System Shock 2 as an FPS, then I'm going to say the midwives. They scared the shit out of me. I can still hear them clomping around. I hate them and they must die, they must die a lot. They're evil and their eggs are stupid and horrible.
