Am I alone in that most of the "white people" stereotypes I see on the internet, I always heard as Yankee stereotypes when I was young?

White people where I live are more likely to touch strangers, stiff waitresses to make a point*, talk at length about whatever boring bullshit they're into, and generally display cultural autism. But they do use spices in their food.

*black people stiff waitresses because they're cheap, which I can respect

By Yankee do you mean Northerner or American? Sorry idk the terminology.

Yeah somewhat. A lot of the white people stereotypes are really confusing to me and seem to be an American thing. The whole "clapping when a plane lands" is something I've never heard of outside of an American context and I've sure as hell never seen someone clap at a movie theatre before.
 
I actually meant something by "cultural autism." Let me try to explain by listing behaviors which seem more prevalent among the whites in my area than the blacks and beaners.

Butting into conversations.
Messy hair
Underdressing for formal or serious occasions
Wearing costumes to work on Halloween
Unprofessional oversharing (e.g., anime posters at work)
Presumptuous familiarity (Calling someone who introduces himself as William "Bill.")
Complaining about how tired and overworked they are to strangers or co-workers
Bothering co-workers to go out with them, or worse, as bosses, to plan office parties.
Talking about their family issues to strangers.

Not that there aren't examples of these behaviors from every other race. I've just noticed a tendency for white people in the US to act like they don't understand social cues and settings, and expect their co-workers to be their intimate friends.

In conclusion, white kids don't get bullied enough.
 
I'm Polish. Clapping upon plane landing has been a thing amongst my people for many many years but it's slowly dying. Back in a day when flying wasn't as mainstream as it is now people clapped when the plane you were on touched the ground. It was to thank the captain for getting people to their destination safely. When I flew for the first time I clapped and thought it was cool. Now I know it's cringe but who knows,. maybe it will become an anti fashion and make a come back like socks and sandals.

Overall I'm always baffled when people talk about "white culture". Surely it has to be an American white culture since here in Europe the only thing all white people have in common is their love for getting drunk.

I do have to admit however that we don't use spices in my country.
