Which Major would be best for a future in Quantum Physics?

I'm applying and am unsure what exactly specific major I should declare.

Yeah I've got no clue. Like maybe it means administrative stuff or something.

also is this for high school or college? if HS then im sure any of them would work. not sure if you are in one of those weird foreign countries, but for american universities it doesn't matter, if you want a career in that field then you are going to need a PHD in it, and at that point your HS major wont matter one bit.

It's college. I'm way outside and away from high school by a number of years.

"Physics - Electronics" might be your best bet. Outside of research at a university the only solid career path that I know of would be quantum computing. Plus if physics gives you the ick down the line you might be able to pivot to computer engineering with whatever electronics classes you'd take. Plenty of the physics guys at my school went computer engineering a semester or two in, especially after seeing the slim pickings at the job fairs.

I went computer science because electricity and chemistry are black magic that I refuse to touch.

Quantum physics is just making fake shit up so I'd say go for a double major in any branch of regular physics and creative writing / journalism

Cause everything else is boring political affiliated bullshit. Plus it's literally the only thing I've got a passive interest in that could maybe mean I do something career wise I don't want to blow my brains out over.
Anthropology would have been cool but my professor I had was a woman who said "unlearn" a lot and came off annoying defending cultural moral relativism which is fucking retarded.

Honestly, major in the most general physics program since this is a bachelors. That’s the great thing about undergrad — you don’t have to focus too much.

Then, as you take more different types of physics courses, you’ll be introduced to topics you never even thought about studying, and it’ll bring you to a different conclusion by the end of it.

You’ll need to go to graduate school anyway if you want to work full-time in a lab. But there may part-time or internship opportunities for undergraduates in quantum research that you could try.

I’d also recommend minoring in CS, engineering, or industrial design so that you have practical skills to find a good job on the chance you don’t go to grad school right away.

As far as anthropology, if you want to study anything related to the liberal arts or non-STEM, you have to study Classics. That way, you’ll avoid all the “unlearning” propaganda. In fact, if there’s a Philosophy of Science or History of Science course, that would be great to take to know what questions Science can/cannot/tries to answer.
