There was this outhouse at a place I went camping as a kid that had a mouse that lived inside the toilet pit. Every time you opened the lid he'd climb up the mountain of shit and stare up at you hopefully. I still feel kinda bad for that mouse to this day.

Though, 6 year old me thought it was hilarious using it as target practice whenever I pissed. It was also hard not to think about the poor little thing underneath you when you were taking a shit. Once you finished it'd scamper back up the mound again and just keep staring hopefully upwards at you as you closed the lid leaving it alone in smelly, wet darkness again.
