Newfag reporting. May I be enlighten of where did "ACK!!" firstly originated from? Spoiler please if it is anything green crescent moon and star.

An ACK signal (in technical terms, 'acknowledgment of receipt' or 'acknowledgment') is a signal used in data transmission to confirm receipt or processing of data or commands.

In character sets for controlling terminals, ACK often exists as a control character (ASCII 06, EBCDIC 46); in network protocols, special data packets can have the meaning ACK.

The rejection of transmitted data (for example due to incorrect reception) is often acknowledged in this context with NAK (No Acknowledgement / Negative Acknowledgement) or NACK, for example with ASCII 21 (CTRL-U). In such a case, an attempt is usually made to retransmit the data, or the connection aborts with an error.

Examples of protocols that use ACK signals in various forms are TCP and DHCP. In the connectivity coordination (CC) procedure that was common until 2010 when changing provider of a domain, an ACK message was used.
