Whats the difference between a tranny and a troon?

They are both derogatory so I wonder when they are more appropriate respectively.
I see troon as a more extreme form of tranny when I want to express extra disgust, but I want to hear some other opinions.

They are different words that effectively mean the same thing, woth that denoting a highly derogatory meaning as a slur open insult. I personally think troon has more of an intensifier effect to it. Troon of course is more recent and thus has connotations associated with the current time period and technology, whereas tramny was more prevalent in the 80s and 90s. Feel free to pick and choose and mix and match, especially as good writing (as well as speech) avoids using the same word too many times in a paragraph.

Really? For me tranny seems nastier to say, even though it's more widespread. Troon sounds too silly for me because of the double-o (Looney Toons, Froot Loops, Woohoo) so I think of it as the more lighthearted of the two.
It's like 'a' vs. hard-r.

I tend to use troon for pornsick AGP predators, tranny for the mass of bandwagon jumpers wanting to be special, and trans for the rare real gender dysphoric. Yes, I know I'm in a minority here in thinking the last class even exists. No, I don't care.

Forcing yourself to use synonyms for the sake of a more diverse vocabulary is also bad writing methinks.

Tranny was originally a derogatory term for transvestites, who are like the precursor to the current "trans/transgender community". By way of this association, it generally connotes a sad older person who, whether passing or not, is enacting an exhibitionist fetish of dressing as the other sex. A lot of "og trannies" don't consider themselves the sex they are dressing up as and are more aligned with the drag community than the modern trans movement.

Nah troons sounds way more aggressive, also to pronounce the r and double o you have to raise your upper lip which coincides with the expression of discuss: its impossible to say troon without simultaneously expressing disgust.

I always treated trannies as normal (if not slightly strange) people. I've got an MtF tranny friend that just wants to be a woman--she isn't weird about it, she keeps to herself, has a normal life and presents reasonably well as a woman. No rainbow or toothpaste flags, none of that.

the word 'tranny' is the shortened form of the word 'transvestite'. before the people of gender invaded, it's what we used to call men, both straight and gay, who dressed in drag (specifically for entertainment purposes).

now, the word 'tranny' has multiple connotations. it can refer to anyone, male or female, who identifies as transgender or transsexual. most often, though, it refers to homosexual transsexual (hsts) men who present as women to lure straight men into sex or relationships. trannies are a nuisance, but they're rarely a threat.

troons, on the other hand, are autogynephilic (agp) men with various mental illnesses. their presentation tends to be very low-effort; their motives for "transition" tend to be ulterior; they tend to be predators; and they tend to be incredibly vocal and/or violent towards anyone or anything that they perceive as resisting their efforts, all of which are hallmarks of their mental illness.
