What's the best dog breed?

I like to find mixes. They bring a lot of interesting traits.
Weenie dog mixes are a lot of fun.

Lab mixes that actually improve on the lab, like a Beaglador (Father is a Lab, Mother is a Beagle).

Dachshund mixes that help mitigate the design flaws, while still looking mostly like a Dachshund, such as the Dachshuahua (Dachshund + Chihuahua).

Mutts. Generally speaking, they tend to be healthier, tend to have less genetic and behavioral issues, and tend to live longer.

Among dog breeds. Unless you're actually planning on using your dog to hunt foxes or fetch pheasants from nearby ponds buying a pure breed is just an exercise in vanity.
Mine doesn't have a single breed making up more than 10% of her ancestry and is built like a T-Rex (big head, short forelegs, big haunches) and she's the greatest dog on the planet as far as I care.

Border Collies are the best breed it's no contest. Pariah dogs are tempermental whereas pure bred dogs are consistent and thus managable in their work. Any animal can be a companion, but only pure bred dogs can be working dogs. No other dog breed matches the intelligence and finess of a Border Collie when it comes to herding and other tasks of higher brain function.

It's a huge cope that pariah mutt dogs are healthier as a result of their mutt ancestry as reputable dog breeders breed out health issues. Stop getting your dogs from puppy mills and backyard breeders and your dog won't have hip displasia. A reputable dog breeder would take back the dog and replace if it had health issues as a result of a bad litter. Unfortunately, people get attached to the animals and even worse do not neuter/spay animals with documented health issues. Remember kids: eugenics is not ok for humans but totally ok for dogs.
