What’s more cringey? A furry or a weeaboo?

Which is cringiest

Weebs are typically prouder of their degeneracy. Most furries have enough sense to not wear it on their sleeves at all times.
Not saying you're wrong but I've literally never seen any weeaboo run around acting proud.

On the other hand I've lost track of (un)/ironic "owoknotty420"-acting furries. If you find a furry creating content on twitch, youtube, or any drawing stream, you WILL know. Meanwhile I've seen loads of anime avas used by people who generally don't even watch any.

Netflix is full of anime, it's becoming normal, and thus harder to be proud of. Pride is a cry for individualism, at least online.

Hey, @RaisinNipples, make it a poll.

A "gaijin" obsessing over (an idealized) Japan to the point of favoring anything Japan over anything not Japan, calling oneself Japanese, and resenting being born "gaijin?" Yeah, that's not exactly healthy.

Obsessing over Japanese cartoons to the point where one non-ironically uses the term "waifu" and wants to marry a fictional character? Professional help may be needed.

Fixating on a show about talking pastel-colored horses aimed at prepubescent girls to the point where everything must "be pony" -- even resumes? Sending out resumes may need to be reconsidered.

TL;DR: Unhealthy obsession over anything is unhealthy.

PS: Of course, having any interest in Japanese cartoons or other things Japanese is not necessarily "weeaboo."

Última edición:
Furries, if only because furries tend to be louder and more awkward, especially in groups, whereas weeaboos usually tend to themselves and are quiet.

There are outliers for both, but from seeing groups of both, furries like the attention.

I've met both, sadly. Weeb's I've met that hold employment, relationships etc and some pass for normies even. Furries I've never met one that's not a fetish, freak and all around fuck up.
The only thing worse than a furry is a boney but weebs don't have to look far to see bottom. They all need gassed.

It depends on your level of extremism on each.

Like, if you're a furry but you just draw animals standing on two legs because you think they're cute or fun to design, you do you. But if you own three fursuits, actively attend furry orgies, bone animals and cannot construct a coherent sentence without owo or uwu, we have a problem.

Likewise, if you're a weeb but you just casually enjoy anime and think Japanese culture is sorta neat, I'm not gonna stop you. But if you've seen every anime known to man, flick your bean to hentai every night, and are married to a body pillow, I think you need some help.

But of course, when you weigh both extremes against each other, I'd say furries are worse. Hardcore weebs are gross and pathetic people who should be avoided at all costs, but hardcore furries pose an actual threat to animals and have disgusting yiff orgies. If I were to choose the lesser of two evils here, it would be weebs, I think.

Well, it's like comparing apples to oranges. Furries are bad in their own ways, and so are weeaboos. Most weeaboos, however, are pretty annoying to talk to, considering that their ideology is warped by their fandom. I've never personally seen or met a furry in real life, but I assume that they're more private about their hobbies.

Weebs make me laugh, furries just make me cringe and also fear for the safety of any animals they may own.

I actually haven't encountered any weebs in the wild for a while now, but in middle school I knew one who would angrily insist he was a demon, like Inuyasha. He was like 14 and would get mad if you told him demons weren't real.
He also told me he only likes asian women and acted weird around asian girls in the classes we had.

Come to think of it, he could've been a furry since Inuyasha had cat ears but wasn't a full athropomorphic animal.

It may be that the balance of weebs to furries is markedly different between the UK and the US. When I worked at a university, there were a couple of furries there, but they were so cripplingly awkward around everyone that they basically just shut up about it, and it only manifested publicly when they did a poster advertising their second hand Vidya stall - they drew their fursonas on there, and much mirth was had by all non-deviants. Weebs, however, are all over the fucking place, and they wear animu-festooned stuff all the time. There aren't many things that're more depressing to witness than a fat eighteen or nineteen year old university student do that naruto-run thing across the campus square. Well, hilarious and depressing in equal measure.

I also used to live near the site for the London comicon, and fuck me the number of weebtards was excruciating.
