No man is ever going to find a softcore lesbian romance series appealing outside of jacking off to the sex scenes, let's be real. I would rather spend my time reading a romance series involving straight characters over lesbians or smut novels.
If it's just about people falling in love or having sex scenes, it's boring. You can have the characters do stuff while they have increasing sexual tension, and then you actually care about it when or if they get together.
