I would not go that far. Most monsters have their origins, and this behavior is not uncommon in parents with disabled children. Barb isn't a psychopath, she's mentally ill. I would not doubt that she suffered severe abuse herself as a child.

A person with any amount of decency takes that as a lesson on what NOT to do though, don't you think? A lot of abused people decide not to reproduce, too, knowing they would be unfit parents. I have zero sympathy for Blorb.

It's really not A-loging to point what Chris and Barb are and get emotinal and passionate over it. we all have different reasons for it of course, but they're not always just out of pleasure for watching them suffer. Chris is quite possibly one of the easiest people on the internet to a-log. If most people wanted to hurt him, I don't think anyone could stop them. Chris is impossible difficulty for White Knights.

For example. I think they are incapable of surviving outside a welfare state. Even with the US not being a good Welfare state they managed to pull it off.

Even I see that Barb is an exceptionally good argument for why Welfare actually causes people to get lazier, and refuse to seek work, which she rubbed off on Chris. Many young Americans and myself are rabid opponents of the SSDI for this very reason. It's a welfare state for the worthless and old like Chris and Barb, while a free market free for all "you're on your own fucko" for everyone else. And we have to support people like Chris, and Barb as well as being the pool supply for the armed forces etc.

In retrospect Barb serves us in death as being the example of what a worthless human being can be. Someone who was never meant for anything, contributed nothing, leeched off the system, and was unfortunate enough to reproduce and add to the problem. Thankfully of course Chris will never have children (and if he did, I often wonder if I would be able to stop myself from calling child services)

A few corrections/notes:

• It's not really about coddling, per se, because that seems to imply she's trying to spoil him. Rather, she's trying to control him and keep him as a exceptional manservant for the rest of her life. He can go fuck himself after she dies. (As evidenced by her using his credit cards to pay down her debts, effectively transferring her debt to him, so she leaves a pristine, debt free corpse.)
• Barb hit Snyder too. She was the one driving the car and she hit Snyder. Then they switched places for some reason and hit him again.
• That's also the only reason she blew tens of thousands of dollars on Rob Bell for their legal defense; her ass was on the line too. When Chris alone was in trouble, he went with a public defender. (To be fair, they were much more strapped for cash that time, although I still don't think she would've spent the money if it was just him alone.)
• Bob tried to intervene when Chris was like 22 and still spooning with his mommy on the couch. Barb threatened to kill herself.
• Barb didn't threaten to leave when Chris was going to magfest. She threatened to kick him out. She threatened to change the locks and leave him to freeze to death in the streets. Magfest is always in January or maybe February, so this was a pretty intimidating threat to Chris.

Yeah, she was kind of a gross skank. Bob should've double bagged it.

Bob's first letter to young Chris had a passage which hinted that he might have been dealing with some form of depression around the time he met Barb:
