Containment What will happen when Barb dies?

"Barb was fat, and I would not have pumped autistic jizz into her."

This is barb in 1985, she doesn't look that bad for a 44 year old.

I'm guessing Chris will end up moving into a group home of sorts. It's the only way he'd be able to survive.

I think he could survive in the practical sense of looking after himself physically - he does that already - but I doubt he'd be able to manage financially for any length of time. That said, group homes aren't free either, so he'd be looking at severely reduced discretionary income no matter where he lives.

How would Chris even be able to get income for living? Would he still have his tugboat, or would the inevitably of leaving the Chandler household result in him not being able to collect welfare anymore? I can't see him being able to afford the cost of living.

Given he's already in credit debt, I doubt he'll do very well after Barb actually carks it, unless she has a hell of a life insurance policy. Even then, he'd probably spend it on Lego and transformers.

Isn't his disability payment in his own right, and therefore something he'd keep?

His biggest issue is that he's used to two people paying the household bills and he'd have to pay those on his own. He could get a housemate, but who'd want to live with Chris. It's not like he lives in a big city where people will live anywhere if the rent is cheap.

Other than going to prison for over a year and being too dumb to reapply, there's no way his financial situation getting worse would take away his tugboat. If anything it might qualify him for more welfare, though he probably gets paid enough not to qualify. If he had to sell the house, for instance to pay off debts Barb put on it, he might qualify for some kind of federal or state housing aid, I suppose.

I'm sure someone would be crazy and fucked up enough to live with Chris. Also, does simply having an autism spectrum disorder allow someone to collect welfare?

I think there has to be a certain criteria met. Autism can range from people being incredibly high functional with some social issues that may be suppressed to the point of normality, or you can get a situation like Chris where they're just socially impaired to the point to where they are unable to cooperate in a work or learning environment. I may be wrong, though.

Chris will leave her in her favorite chairbed and not report the death. He will live in denial and continue to talk to hear and reply to himself while imitating her voice. The animals will sleep, piss and shit all over her corpse. A family of mice will chew through the crotch of her velour pants and grammy panties and nest in her dried out old coach. The smell will be noticeable by the neighbors who will call the police for a welfare check. The police will come to the door where Chris will impersonate Barb. The police will force their way in where they will find Barbs mummy covered in feces, urine, pet hairs, and surrounded by a mountain of rotten, uneaten fast food. Chris will be sent to a psychiatric ward because he now believes he is Barb half the time. Chris will spend the rest of his days in a drug induced stupor, drooling and shitting himself even more than usual. The house will be bulldozed and the lot turned into a playground for local children after the top soil has been removed, disposed of and replaced for public health reasons.

Chris will take a video with Barb's corpse, begging for money instead of calling 9-1-1.
