Surprised no one has mentioned - forums in general. Liberty Forum, among many others I used to look at - they archive really badly on the Internet Archive, so alot of discussion is just gone. The idea that the internet is forever, something coined in the days when all websites were basic bitch html, was laughable in retrospect.

Probably why the internet feels so monotone now.

I miss old forums/web hosting services. AIM was legendary. I liked the random weird sites you could stumble upon that I'm not sure are even a thing anymore (mostly Flash based videos/games). Fan sites were big, and sprite comics.

I never saw this video but I remember a post on r/Hapas talking about a Facial Abuse video of a half Asian girl named Sasha Yung where the camera man made her talk about how she was raped and abused by her family members. Fucking vile but you won’t find that video anywhere on the internet anymore. It’s for the better though.
