I don't usually watch British comedy, but after hearing the description for Bottom (from 1991-1995, not to be confused with some weird lesbian movie called Bottoms that came out recently), I watched it.
I love dark comedy and slapstick, so this was perfect for me. It's about two British people living on government welfare, one an alcoholic, one a sociopath, both hate each other and are massive perverts. It has the best slapstick outside of the three stooges, and tons of horrible dark comedy about how they treat each other, other people and society.
There's literally an episode in the third "series"/season about them trying to rob places during the yearly riots that happen during a parade. It's great, I legitimately recommend it.

I binge watched Spin City, the show Michael J. Fox was on in the 1990s, and the one he had to leave in season 4 because the Parkinsons symptoms were becoming harder to work with.
If he never got Parkinsons, I do think the show would have lasted even longer. It's a real shame what happened to him, because Michael J. Fox was a really good comedic actor.

Spin City is just a workcom with prefab archetypes you could swap into any show from '96 without anyone noticing. You’ve got Richard Kind doing “lovably antisemitic caricature”, Barry Bostwick as amiably stupid rich guy, gay black guy, and...uhh...

I'm still disappointed that it hasn't been released on DVD. Speaking of shows I wish would get out on DVD, Boston Public.
I grew up watching the show and it got cancelled too early. I still love the hell out of the theme song.
The first two seasons were a great show of pre-911 life, while also covering what 911 did to life in public.
Every so often I go back and binge watch Boston Public.

All those David E. Kelley shows were just hoovering up Emmys and now I couldn’t recall a single scene if you put a gun to my head.

Been watching older anime from when I used watch Adult Swim in the 2000s, right now it's Blood+. I found a Kiss Anime type of site where I can watch it because it's not available legally in the US unless I want overpriced, used DVDs from eBay. Probably gonna watch Witch Hunter Robin next, I didn't get to see it.

Gundam Wing. I was put off for a long time because I kept trying the dub and sounded stupid. Sub is actually shaping up to be a decent Sci Fi drama.

I watched The Poseidon Adventure and the first thing that hit me was, Reverend Scott's the hero, right? And he’s out here preaching this, I don’t even know… like a New Age fusion. And everyone on the ship treats him like he’s got leprosy. Maybe it’s because he’s not a Calvinist and thinks people should lift up themselves. They never spelled out the reasoning.
A Catholic priest goes down with the ship immediately and you're like "....alright." I always thought predestination was more of a protestant thing?

And yeah thanks for taking my last comment in stride, I did feel a little guilty about bodying some old show you liked.
Most of his story before that was him falling in love with Lauren and Marilyn and both being unrequited, so I agree.
He was honestly one of the most entertaining characters.

Been watching Breaking Bad (and I don't want to necro those threads) and there are a couple of times the show wrote itself into a corner. The biggest one is right after Jessie got beat up by Hank and Walter asked him to cook again so he won't press charges. So Jessie has this big emotional speech about how he had no one and refused to work with Walter specifically. Based on the logic of that scene, Jessie had negative motivation to work with Walt again and money wasn't going to be an issue because of the charges he was going to press on Hank.
Next scene, Jessie called Walt and reconsidered.
The second one is when Skylar talked to her divorce lawyer and her lawyer told her to get the hell out immediately. Since this scene is in season 2, Skylar wasn't a criminal yet. At worst, she was helping Ted Beneke with tax fraud, but not even that really. At that point, her love for Walter had died and her priority at that time should have been the safety of herself and her children. Instead, her threat amounted to a bluff and she chose to become an accessory after the fact. Then an actual criminal by engaging in money laundering.
Both scenes suffer for the same reason; if characters were consistent with their motivations, the show ends at that moment. Jessie would have been written out (contract negotiations probably?). Skylar would have ended up like the the Kettlemans where Ted does some time for tax evasion, but she and her family wouldn't be adjacent to cartel business.
