What is your personal favourite Multi-player GameCube game?

While I played a LOT of Smash Bros. Melee, the answer is Maio Kart: Double Dash. There was no experience like staying up till 5 AM on a summer night with my brother and 2 friends, screaming our heads off as fortunes shifted and probably making my parents a few rooms away with they had considered birth control.

Double dash is fun, but so is every Mario Kart. What was unique about melee is that some people took it super seriously. There's nothing more satisfying than selecting random character and whooping someone's main with fuckin' jigglypuff.

I'd argue Double Dash is the most fun Mario Kart, it is my personal favorite despite also playing a lot of Mario Kart Wii with one of those friends. I'd also argue every Smash Bros is a similar amount of fun to each other (despite common internet winging), and that there where also limited Mario Karts for comparison back then.

As for Melee, yeah, I did this exact same thing. I was really good and my brother was even better than me to the point where until online came with Brawl we were big fish in a small pond who never lost so we would change off of our mains to humble people. Of course, back then we just played the game through raw reaction skill without much thought of wavedashing and other such tricks, frame data autism and tiering outside the obvious "fast character better". Jigglypuff seemed like a joke character to beat people with then, but with the knowledge now she is like the highest tier makes that less impressive but still funny.

Double Dash being the last one before Nintendo's love for gimmicky controls started interfering with development is a major part of why it's the best Mario Kart.
Even without the wheel controller Wii controlled terribly and I'm convinced the switch controller is a failed psyop by the Japanese government to make it physically painful to play Nintendo games for longer than 30 minutes.

I don't think I ever learned how to wavedash but would play against people like that, it was funny seeing them sperg the fuck out because playing as the same damn character made them ridiculously predictable. Taking them off the ledge with kirby was a surefire way to make them flip out too. What was the lowest tier character anyways? I know the tryhards would always go with like, fox, sheik, and captain falcon, never deviating. Game and watch was one of my favorites to play.

Get a gamecube microphone and destroy your friendship with mario party 6. People always rave about the n64 ones but the addition of the item orbs adds so much that I could never go back to the originals. 5-7 are such fun and everyday I want to slowly torture what ever dumb fuck decided to kill that classic formula, I know Hudson soft went under but fuck what sort of extreme retard thought gluing all the players together in a board game was a good idea.
Also don't forget about mario superstar baseball, arguably the best baseball games ever made

Super Mario strikers is pretty good too, even if soccer is gay.
