What is your favorite comfort food? - The real comfy stuff.

I suppose the thing that would fit into this category is Dulche de leche ice cream by Haagen-Dazs. My more favorite meal is ribeye steak, marinated in Dale's seasoning, coupled with steamed broccoli and cauliflower alongside steak fries (or fries in general). A meal I never tire of, though it's not something I can have all the time.

I didn't want to be the snob who says a local dish but empadão is absolutely delicious. It's a Portuguese dish that's kinda similar to shepherd's pie and has several different versions, but my favorite is the one with mashed potatoes and tuna. You put mashed potatoes on a casserole, put tuna mixed with tomato sauce on top of it, and then put another layer of potatoes and bake it in the oven.

Shortcrust pastry meat pie you're meant to make in a large, deep dutch oven. It's made in the winter to showcase the game your family has hunted, we usually favored venison, moose, ruffled grouse, and hare but I've definitely heard of people making it with only beef, pork, and chicken when they're from the city or don't hunt, and they seem to like it just fine. Cut the meat to a small cube (pea-sized) with its equal in small cube potatoes and like one onion per 4 cups of meat:4 cups of potatoes, salt and pepper only, leave in the fridge overnight. The next day, lay out the pastry dough at the bottom and alongside the sides of the dutch oven, add the filling, and cover with beef stock, broth, or even water. Cover with a layer of pastry, cut in a few funnels to monitor and add liquid if needed, and cover with the lid or even aluminium paper. 1h at 400F, then 275F for 8h, though you remove the lid or aluminium cover for the last hour

I could never pick a favorite, but I've been making tf out of Reuben sandwiches this fall.

Also a lot of fried walleye with hush puppies, fries, and pasta salad for sides.
