What is the best way to eat potatoes? - Q&A's honorary Irish thread

I’m boring throw fries at me and I’m a happy guy. Add a shake to dunk them in and we’re golden.

Usually I cook my potatoes by cooking them in butter and with onions like the ruskies do. Not the most filling thing but it’s pretty good and cheap.

It's hard to mess up potatoes, they're easy to cook and you can do a lot with them. If a chef or a restaurant can't make good fries, then you know they're shit.

Mashed. Make sure you cook them in a very salty water so they get creamy. Add plenty butter, salt, and some creme fraiche, and there's nothing better in the whole world.
There are plenty recipes that advise adding more flavorsome ingredient - like cheddah or mustard - but that kills the potato flavor. Simplicity is the best, Potato is the King.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
