Biologically speaking it is not possible for a child under the age of 6 to be left alone due to its need to be taught how to eat and in regards to being potty trained, maybe be taught to speak and read, but after that, what would become of the child if left completely isolated from everything and everyone, only being communicated through a slot in the door in regards to being given food.
There's also a way to teach a child those things without giving them any emotional feedback (ie monotone voice and matter of fact behaviors), thus making them socially isolated even if they are being taken care of. Then when they are a proper age, they are raised in complete and utter isolation.
With the Epstein stuff coming out confirming human rights not being a concern, I wonder if this is an experiment that is currently happening or has happened. As obviously they would have access to enslaved mothers who could birth undocumented children, making it where they can do anything they want towards them.

While I won't personally weigh in on the possibility of a sinister shadow-academia conducting extreme and inhumane experiments, I will say that academia has definitely shown interest in this concept before. When I read your post, I immediately thought of Genie Wiley, who, unlike most other documented feral children, wasn't feral by virtue of being abandoned in infancy, but was feral because she was kept in a state of purposeful and prolonged isolation from the outside world by her abuser. Almost as soon as she was removed from her abuser, linguistic and developmental researchers became obsessed with her case, and she became the subject of a great deal of invasive, but technically ethical research until her mother intervened.

Apart from the logical approach of "not my fucking problem" which is absolutely a valid approach to this question, I would say there are four outcomes that come to mind.
1. Heat death or some form of long term universal collapse
2. Instant nondescript event we don't even have time to process as it is outside of time
3. Future "fuck around and find out" human intervention

What if we're supposed to take the pyramids apart? Otherwise, how are they gonna tell you on paper that will last long enough for others to realize they have to be taken apart? You'd arrange the blocks in the way that's easy to take them apart and they all of about the same size. If there was a universal sign of "take me apart" it would probably be a pyramid at some location that can't be taken apart so easily. Probably makes the earth wobbly on axis too. We should fix that. I'm not saying that it would be massive enough to have it's own gravitational field, but isn't that what they teach us? If I tried to get the earth to wobble and I guessed that it's round, to make seasons you'd want to wobble it probably. So they concentrate a mass in one area. Fuck, back then you could convince anyone anything. If we study history, why don't we also study future?

Who knows how far the Germans and Japs went with their WW2 experiments but this case study is used as the base line for situations like you are describing. Check out "critical periods" of development. She never got better.

Also, they would tell you not on paper, but on the walls of the pyramid for example, which isn't the case. Taking them apart would probably be an insult to anyone involved in that project.

Would NASA (or an equivalent organization) actually warn the populace of imminent cosmic destruction, if it was know that most (or all) of the population could not be saved?
Now, I am not one of those conspiracy spergs who looks at NASA as some evil organization made for the explicit purpose of misleading the masses... that is dumb... but I do think it is very likely that the scientists who discovered this hypothetical threat, would look at the situation like this: "Why make people sad or upset for their last days? Let everyone live their last days in peace."
It could work the other way, of course; "We should let people prepare for the end."

P.S. We should recognize that while being exterminated by an astronomical event is possible it is statistically unlikely over a few-hundered year time-span. For example: Extinction-sized asteroids only hit the Earth about once every few hundred thousand years.
