why do you even care? the site has been dead for years. an upboat system isn't going to salvage anything at this point in terms of "chasing away perverts & mediocre artists", and i doubt anyone will give two shits as these rating systems are pretty commonplace on the internet anymore.

if you're concerned about perverts, just report the artwork. dA has a 0 tolerance policy on pornography/obscene material (obviously exuding non-sexual nude artwork and even then i've seen uploads removed). if that fails, just turn off the option to display mature content or something, idk nigga

DeviantArt will always be a userbase of mostly degenerates.
Adding ratings would most definitely cause drama, as most artists there can't take a hint of criticism. Also, DA itself seems too PC to want to hurt anyone's fee-fees with negative ratings.
