What Have You Cooked Recently?

I can't stop making granola lately. Working on a balance of sweet and spicy without being so savory it's off-putting.

The best one in the last couple weeks has been a base of oats, flax, chopped cashews and almonds, and a handful of sunflower seeds. About a half stick of butter and a hearty amount of both barley malt syrup and maple syrup to give it the sticky crunch, probably a couple tablespoons of this pineapple ginger scorpion pepper sauce I'm hooked on to give it a nice little burn, and powdered ginger and cinnamon for yum.

Sometimes I've been cooking it on 235F, sometimes 250F, it doesn't seem to matter as long as it's stirred every ten minutes or so after the initial thirty min of baking.

Really good shit though.
 
Tried my hand at homemade tapioca pearls (boba). Time consuming, but easy and delicious.

In honor of Wuhan-chan tanking various things, I made a chocolate cake recipe from the Great Depression. It’s a very interesting recipe, no milk, no eggs, no nothing. It’s made entirely from stuff that would be found in the pantry, uses vinegar and baking soda to rise, and probably just faith as a binding agent. It’s very good, the texture is different than other cakes but still pleasant, and the flavor is just a good chocolate cake.

So it’s lent and I go Vegetarian for Lent. I’ve been making a lot of Spinach Alfredo Pasta. The other day I experimentally put some Old Bay seasoning in and I’m not ever going back. That was amazing.

Just made me think of this old lady who had a channel on this topic.
 
Cooked a nice, simple beef brisket recipe with some corned beef I got for cheap. A glaze of butter, apple juice, and rosemary makes a surprisingly tasty and succulent combination.
 
The stores around here are still mostly barren, but one of them had plenty of venison because I guess people have no idea what it is or are afraid of it. So I made a nice stew with some leeks, potatoes, mushrooms, and carrots.

I made the I made the dough (always do), and sausage myself (well, added seasonings to ground pork).
 
I made bread for the first time! Would have scored instead of checkering but my score down the center was uncannily vaginal.

Some of those Walmart bags of ground beef patties, 75/25, straight ground beef, no hearts or miscellaneous. Tasted noticably better than I recall them being the last time I got them.

I imagine they were a bit of a grease trap though given the pretty high ratio of fat in them. Don't blame you for getting them though given tards hoarding causing supply issues.
 
I cooked Salmon fillet, blackened, spiced it with coriander, paprika, black pepper, lemon zest and a bit of cinnamon. Served that on top of a bed of spinach and mexican rice.
