For lunch i made burritos with sausage, rucola, shredded Gouda, french fries and a splash of hot sauce, was 5/5 breddy good.
Dinner was not that great somehow, didn't went grocery shopping so had to made do with what i found in the cupboards at the relative's place i'm currently staying at. Decided on something simple, Chili Oil Noodles. Realized there are no pepper flakes so had to scratch that. Ended up with a meh rice noodle dish, which mostly sucked because the noodles were of bad quality.
Cooked the noodles, then started with a base of minced garlic, minced ginger and chopped shallots, fried in rape seed oil because fuck me, no other oil in the house. I personally don't like the distinct taste rape seed oil has. Added the cooked noodles and splashed it with sauce that was part fish sauce, part dark soy sauce, dash of sugar, starch and a bit of cold water. Let everything cook for a bit, added some asian hot sauce, which turned out to be not that great, garnished with chopped scallion greens.
It really should've tasted better, cooked meals in the same vein a million times but something was off today. Ate a couple of bites, put the rest in the fridge and now laying in bed, still hungry. Dag.
