On the topic of boots; I have seen a new-isch trend where women will put some kind of leather bag / cover over their boots? Why??? It is so fucking ugly. Anyone know what I'm talking about? It almost makes them look like weird tubes, and the boots look at of their form.

I think alt girls high jacked spats for “fashion” purposes, but those look cheaply made and would never protect against molten metal

the furry part folds to various lengths.

Oh no now you reminded me of the "I'm wearing pants that end above ankle with no-show socks even in the middle of winter" trend. Words can't describe how much I hated its pretentiousness. I

I'm not gonna lie I kinda like cuffing my pants to show off cute/novelty socks. But Jesus christ no show socks need to die a fiery death, every time I've worn them they end up slipping off my heel and bunching up in my shoe. Literally a failure at their only job

I am also a defender of cute novelty socks hahah. I dont even cuff my pants so nobody can see them, but I like that it's like a fun surprise haha.

on the topic of shitty socks tho these are "pilates/sporty socks" yet are the most useless thing ever. I usually feel fond for ugly clothing in a kind of "bless your heart" manner but I cannot find kindness for this...

Not quite on the topic of boots (sorry) i hate the trend of transparent shirts with lace bras, or out right wearing only a bra or a top made to look like a bra and nothing else. I went to pick up my sister from school the other day and I saw ~8th graders dressed like hookers.
Something else that's often paired with the "wore only a bra to school" look is orange paint face + white hair. When girls put 8 kilograms of makeup onto their face to look orange. I don't know if it's the same in the states but seeing teens looking like this disturbs me

on the topic of bras which was just mentioned, I have to say I LOVE frills and lace.
I hate mesh shirts. I love sheer lace (?), when the cloth is opaque but there are very small gaps because of the pattern.

Neither, however, would ever be appropriate for eighth graders omg!!!

The point of leg warmers for ballet dancers/pilates etc are to keep your muscles WARM during practice. What's the point of those? They look like they were stolen from a 5yo kid

Right?? I have seen multiple women wear those. And it was always in combination with revealing clothing. Imagine a young woman wearing those with a mini-skirt and a spaghetti top. Utterly tastles. And kind of sad they feel they need to wear stuff like that.

I like them if paired with a cute slip because then you can do some interesting stuff with layering colors but I rarely see them worn like that, unfortunately. That and sheer dresses and tops have become so overdone. It’s not daring anymore, it’s just slutty, boring, and not usually the most flattering option for the people that choose to wear them. I feel like the current overarching trend that I see are great ideas going halfway there then completely fumbling the execution.

I have a lace top, I haven’t worn it yet, but I’d wear it with a slip or camisole underneath and maybe under a jacket. It’s a little risqué tbh.
The last couple of blouses I’ve bought have been so sheer I HAVE to put a camisole underneath, which sort of negates the point of something light and floaty for summer. I put that down to enshittification of fabric quality but maybe it’s this trend too.
Good job it’s freezing and pissing it down and I’m wearing a hoodie.
And in the subject of band merch, WHYYYY unisex sizing? WHY? As a woman your choice is xs and it just being hopeless baggy on the waist, with a ridiculous neckline or going for the oversized look. Just have a woman range, please. Unisex means it fits no one or it’s man shaped. The band hoodie I’m wearing is allegedly xs and it comes down almost to my knees.
I browse most clothing websites and the stuff is so revealing j can hear my parents a few decades back saying YOU ARE NOT GOING OUT LIKE THAT YOUNG LADY…plus ca change, I suppose, although it was cooler stuff then
