What do you use to debloat Windows? - Because Windows is slowly becoming bloatware.

I've been both a Mac and Windows user. I've quit using Mac and have switched completely to Windows over the past couple of years. But it feels like each iteration has started to come with more and more bloat and privacy concerns.

Reinstalling Windows is an exercise in anger management. From apps you'll never use to privacy settings, it's just becoming a hassle.

So I thought we could share some tools we all use to make Windows a little less bloaty.

My go to tools after a clean installation is:

1) Geek uninstaller: I use this to quickly remove random trash apps. Link
2) "Winslop": I use this to get back my privacy and fix the Win 11 annoyances: Link

Those two cover most my needs. I know this can be avoided by using Linux. And I am in the process of finding a distro that fits me best. But in the mean time, let's talk about Windows and how you've made it better and what tools you've used.

I use linux mint because it doesn't matter what you do to windows the next update has a good chance of reversing your changes and bricking your computer. Mint's pretty idiot proof

I used windows 10 enterprise with massgrave scripts. Although only for testing out some video games. I think I actually followed a thread here so search here. The hash of the OS image matches with the official Microsoft download. Once windows 10 stops working I will put in some Linux. My coding computer is ubuntu

linux, debloats windows by 100%.

To be more serious, trying to debloat windows is an exercise in futility. Any apps that are actually worth removing are embedded so deeply in windows.

Linux, as it was said.

If you even touch Windows 11 you already lost before you even began. 10 is just barely usable if you debloat it but with 11 it is all built into the core of the system to do the needful for saar.

linux. Pick One: Linux Mint, MX Linux, Manjaro. CachyOS, Bazzite or Nobara (Basically Bazzite with the CachyOS Kernel) . If you want to just dive head first into the deep end: artix linux. openrc or dinit.

I use shutup10++, it disables all the telemetry/adware/other bullshit you don't want. As well as Revo Uninstaller to kill Cortana and Copilot and other AI shit with fire. These two tools take like 5 minutes to get everything dialed in how you want. It's worth creating a restore point and a profile of changes you like in case Windows reverts them with updates, although I've never dealt with that. The 5 minutes it takes unretarding Windows and getting it to just work is more convenient and less of a timesink than Linux.

*adjust glasses, slightly tip fedora in a nonchalant way*
Hm, you see, the best way to debloat windows is to use a GNU/Linux distro (that's distribution for you normies) called Arch

Lmao.

If you want a serious answer from people who use Windows, you should head to the Windows OS thread.

As it is, lot of people have deemed Windows 11 a lost cause (myself included) and switched to Linux. Someone might post something useful to you, but it looks like you're getting swamped with shitposts.
