What are your favorite sci-fi novels?

Not a novel so much as a short story, but I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison was even better than I'd heard. I was disappointed it was over and I really want to check out more of his work.

War of the Worlds & The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G. Wells are other favorites. I used to really like The Time Machine too but it kinda lost its magic after a certain age.

Damn. I was trying to be concise with my list. But I intend to at least check out everything thing here. And all of these are most appreciated.
I love PKD, but have only read a few of his novels. A ton of his short stories though.

I rather like 1984, if that counts. The Lathe of Heaven is another good one, it's by Ursula LeGuin and has a very unique concept. I need to read PKD, where do I start?
