Kicking some games off my bucket list. I'm playing FFV and so far it's amazing.

I was under the impression that FF13 already bent over for the idiots that developed it.

I'm playing Dota, Metal Gear Rising, and XCOM. Anyone planning on playing Titanfall on PC? I need friends on origin. (:_(
 
Finished XCOM yesterday. My Volunteer was my Israeli sniper, who also happened to be the first genetically modified soldier and the only member of my A-Team who tested positive for the Gift. Of the 90 or so soldiers I hired, only ten of them were Psi positive. Four of them were on the B-Team, two were on the C-Team and the rest were rookiees.

RIP Malachi "Hex" Meir.
 
Working on both Ryse for the Xbox One and Stryder. Stryder's pretty good, but I just lost a bunch of progress because I didn't realize how the save points worked. I'm used to being fed a checkpoint every ten seconds, dammit!

Ryse . . . well, I love me some Roman Centurion stories and having the story set beyond the boundaries of Hadrian's wall is pretty damn sweet. But the combat . . . oh, God, the combat. It's so stiff and terrible. It's only saving grace is the brief but admittedly cool parts where you control a phalanx formation. I'm going to finish the campaign and then this one's getting traded back in, along with Call of Duty: Ghosts.
 
I've been playing a lot of GTA IV in the past two days, mainly because unlike San Andreas, I can actually progress through the missions without a guy scolding me for not following the damn train, when the gang members getting away was his fault for not killing the last two guys.
 
Got past the Bed of Chaos in Dark Souls, and wrote a huge rant about how awful that fight is. Now I'm just finishing a few things before I go after Gwyn and end this story.
 
Replaying Dawnguard (Skyrim) because I missed some conversations. I really like Serana's character and just getting to know her.

Let Lautrec live, kill him once you reach Anor Londo. If you kill him before, you won't get his armor after killing a boss within Anor Londo. Also remember that he assist as a phantom in the gargoyle and gaping dragon fights.
 
I am playing Castlevania: Belmont's Revenge, i am a huge Castlevania fan, but this is the first time i play this game, but i have played the precuel; Castlevania the adventure, but the one i am playing now is better :D
 
I finally got around to playing this game, Dark Souls, that everyone's been gushing about for the past two years...

I could sperg out for hours about how great it is, but I'll only do so for a few minutes. Basically, my crappy computer can barely run it at anything above 10 FPS at 1440x900 and with anti-aliasing off, but I don't mind, that's how fucking awesome it is.

Neither do I care that I've watched many runs of the game by Lobos Jr and a good portion of Slowbeef's LP of it beforehand, read tons of pages on the wiki, and watched plenty of other related, spoiler-y videos on YT. It's still a game you need to experience yourself. My experience is different from that of most players in that I should breeze through the game since I spoiled all the boss strats to myself.

The game does almost everything right: the locations are very fun to explore, the graphics are gorgeous and combat is the most fun one I've ever seen in video games.

Then there is the story, which is a very simple analogy to life, but is still handled in a very elegant fashion. In a dying world devoid of hope or purpose, filled with hazards and obstacles which will stop you over and over again, you keep pushing on, making your own meaning for the game.

I wonder if there are any wizards who played the game, watched a video which pretty much interprets it the same way I did, like this amazing in-depth analysis by Super Bunnyhop:

and still chose to stay on Wizardchan and be depressed. I mean, the message of this game has to be one of the most hopeful, anti-depressive ones. You don't even know if you will make a difference, but you go out there and try to make the most out of your stay here. Because the world is amazing the way it is. Because there is so much to learn. Because the alternative is to succumb to marasmus and wait idly as you slowly go insane, like the people on Wizardchan do.

This game is just great. Anyway, so far I got Asylum Demon on my first try, same with the Taurus Demon, then I died about 20 times on Belfry Gargoyles because I killed them without using the Gold Pine Resin or summons, even though you are somewhat encouraged to try one or both of the two to make the fight easier. Moonlight Butterfly went down on the second try. I think I'm doing relatively well.
