Pasta with a blue cheese, mushroom, garlic and meat (lean pork or chicken) sauce. A really creamy and salty one, seasoned with rosemary.

Cured or cold smoked salmon is fantastic. It needs so few sides to shine, even just some rye bread with butter and eggs makes it great. Spring potatoes, some sour cream, diced onions and a glass or two of vodka is also good.

I was thinking of chopping and caramelizing an onion, putting it in a bowl of bovril, grating cheese over it then microwave, voila! Poor man's french onion soup
