I need new books to read. I want to read something that makes me laugh, or is at least amusing and makes me laugh on the inside.

I don't think I've ever read a book that actually made me laugh, outside of children's books that I read when I was a toddler and I thought silly sounding words were funny.

Can you explain how it's funny? I don't know much about Norm MacDonald outside of memes and clips of his most popular jokes.
Pretty simple, Norm was a great writer and storyteller. The book is his memoir, but has fictional elements too. A lot of the humor is absurdist.

I suppose that if you don't know anything about Norm MacDonald you might not find it as funny..

Lol, I think I would worry my family if they saw me reading this.

It looks like it available at my library, so I can give it a try.

Lol, if you’d like a more sincere answer as to not alert your family to possible mental damage. I can recommend The Idiot by Elif Batuman, just a college romance story but it’s funny I swear.

Was there any mentions about the Martian/Atlantean wars? The Jews being the martians? And/Or Thoth, the 20 foot tall bird man?

I really liked this is your life. It's been years since I read it. It has a great hook. It starts with a guy nervous to do his famous comedy routine for a large stadium and televised audience. He's just in absolute shambles. Because despite what everyone believes, he's never done stand up comedy before.

Kinda fits for kiwifarms too and the interest in people that think they're more important than they are.

It's kinda corny sometimes and the ending falls kinda flat, but there's good material in there.

Not for everyone, but there is something about the cartoonishly over the top B-horror splatter books of Edward Lee that I think is exceptionally funny. Though how much of this is intentional vs an unintended effect of the material is up to debate. The Bighead is probably the highlight of the ones I have read so far.
