You have the universe, the multiverse, the megaverse, the gigaverse, the teraverse, the exaverse, the xenoverse, the hyperverse, the omniverse and "the outside".
lol take your meds, schizo. The universe is not ordered like data in a hard drive; not even Terry was this retardedly presumptuous. I don't need to know shit about Kabbalah to know you're probably twisting its base ideas for your own benefit the way you tried with Catholicism earlier and got your shit pushed in by actual Catholics.

...which I guess is characteristic of a Gnostic to do, so for all I know this is an elaborate troll and I fell for the bait. I'm still having fun with it though.
If the God of the gnostics could have created a better world, is he not also a demiurge? An imperfect creator? Is there not then possibly a better god above him? but he too saw to a world with inferior god. Could also there not be a god above that one? And another. And another...
The Mormons sure seem to think so.

gnostocism is mormonism for racist meth addicts that are too ugly and poor to build a stable of sisterwives
Been thinking on this more. Gnosticism is religion for a kind of narcissist that can concieve of a supernatural but not of anything superior to themselves. " Yeah God is real but he's dumber than me and he's totally evil, unlike myself. Through the power of my amazing intellect I can deduce that the world is bigger than myself and therefore fundamentally evil. If I just grind out my gnosis stat I can beat God because I'm just that good."

They were like the autistic Sonic the Hedgehog Fandom of the late antique Mediterranean religious world. "Oh if you eat only vegetables and your own cum and believe in my OC DOHNUT STEEL cosmology (Don't worry, Ra, Jupiter, Hercules, Jesus and Buddah have all been dimensionally merged) your a super special pneumatic who gets to hang out in our club house and when you die you go to the aether, where you'll contemple reality with all your comfort characters instead of being reborn into the oppressive, war torn and over-taxed shithole that is late-stage Capitalism Imperium Romanus."

Christianity and Gnosticism both have good ideas, but also bad ideas. Honestly, I don't understand the impulse to fully believe in and want to follow any existing religion. If people in the distant past were free to piece together religious thought they felt sounded true into new religions, then I don't see why I can't do the same.

The question of why evil exists is fucking retarded, by the way. The eternal struggle between good and evil exists within every man, because within every man exists all aspects. Just as it's God's nature to be ever benevolent and you wouldn't question "but why is God like that", it's simply humanity's nature to be as we are. We struggle against evil, both within and from others, because that's simply what we do. The only question is: Do you continue the struggle? Or do you give up and rot in the darkness?

Gnosticism is one of those things that’s really cool to learn about when you dive into it for fun, and you get to see how much crackpot new age shit is inspired by it. Can make for some fun stories too when it’s introduced into writing. (Drakengard) It’s also one of those things that can be very convincing and spirals into nihilism very quickly. It’s obviously fake with some critical thinking applied, but it’s a pretty dangerous belief system to descend into. Source: I went down a rabbit hole back then where I started believing in it.

The reality of the world I shouldn’t say is boring per se, but it’s much more simple. Christianity is the one, true faith and we can come to that conclusion through reason. Esoteric faggotry is the religious equivalent of black people putting seasoning on everything so it has “flavor”.
But the Bible said you're forgiven if you believe in Christ.
I’m late, but I don’t care. That’s literally some “faith alone” Protestant heresy. There’s a reason why for the first 1500 years of Christianity it was a problem when people interpreted the Bible however they wanted willy nilly. I can literally imagine 500 evangelical grandmas saying the same thing as I post this.

Always funny to see random anime related results when searching for anything gnostic related.

That aside, it is interesting that a gnostic type belief like the dharmic concept of maya develops in times of crisis and decay in civilizations, where the older or more power hungry powers that be have a foothold on society, leaving the masses in a state of nihilism and pessimism, trying to find a way out of this world. With that, it's easy to see how early Christian asceticism developed, especially in how it contrasts with Dharmic asceticism in Buddhism and Hinduism. The Demiurge in the general Gnostic myths is always equated to Saturn and his archetype, an old, delusional, power hungry father figure who devours his kids and demands them in sacrificial form like society itself, Baal, and the Old Testament God. The Gnostic Jesus plays a similar role to the old tale greco-roman tale of Jupiter (Rome?), who slays his father Saturn (Judaism/Phoenician religion?) with the help of his mom Ops/Rhea (Mary/Sophia?) and brings in a new reign, replacing one Archon with another, the son Jupiter/Horus. Keeping the eternal sacrificial king cycle/astrological motif going, like how Saturn castrated his father and replaced him.

Gnosticism gets one thing right: the world has been warped into a maze of evil by malefactors beyond human power. It doesn't matter whether you call the dragon Yaldabaoth or Lucifer. This world IS cruel, IS wicked and IS full of things meant to lead you away from Truth.
It absolutely does matter if that evil force is the god that created said material world.
